It's getting harder and harder these days to stand out, especially in the EDM world. EDM has exploded in popularity over the past few years and as a result, there has been an over abundance of artists and groups trying to cash in their success through this scene. It's gotten to the point where those who bend around these social norms are the ones that get noticed. Take Solidisco, for example.

This duo turns away from popular electronic ingredients and formulas. And if you haven't picked up on it, they have taken a liking to fusing disco into their work. The tunes and remixes they crank out have that classic house spunk, elevated by the looming disco vibe. It's a refreshing change of sounds that we're so used to hearing while we wade through the EDM scene.

One of Solidisco's newest remixes roots from 1980s soul group Aurra. Solidisco targeted "Make Up Your Mind" because of its groovy nature, no doubt. The original tune captures the essence of 80s music, which is quite apparent in their remix. They upped the energy of the song and spotlighted some vocal samples, all the while executing the song in a house-like manner. The 80s nature of the song is kept intact, giving the remix a natural retro feel with plenty of modern spins.

The name is Phil. I've been with EARMILK for handful of years now. I love all sorts of music, and I tend to change up what type of music I'm into throughout the year. However, one thing is certain: I love anything chill and mellowed out. A lot of the time, you'll see me covering smooth, chilled out grooves through our infamous Daily 2% series. 80 BPM is love, 80 BPM is life.
