When two west coast heavyweights collide, you know there is going to be fireworks, and that's exactly what we get on the latest offering from Snoop Dogg and Dam-Funk, together as 7 Days of Funk. As one of the most legendary rappers to come out of California, Snoop Dogg's rep took a bit of a hit when he 'reincarnated' himself as Snoop Lion, but his talent has never been in question, and he gets down and funky on this collaboration with Dam-Funk. Not only does he go back to his rapping roots, he also soulfully sings the chorus. Dam-Funk has laid down a sunshine filled backdrop, with gritty synths that reminds me of west coast classics like Tupac's "California Love", and a drum beat that's guaranteed to get you moving in your chair.
"Faden Away" is the first single to be taken off the forthcoming joint album between Snoop and Dam entitled 7 Days Of Funk, which is going to be released via Stones Throw Records sometime in the near future.
