Irish producer Greg Downey has cemented himself as a name to know in the world of trance. If you haven't heard of him, you might know his colleagues Bryan Kearney, John O'Callaghan, Aly & Fila, or Sneijder. And if not, well, his ethereal and uplifting brand of trance coined by its faster-paced BPM is slowly taking up a larger and larger share of the Beatport trance chart, with those like Jorn van Deynhoven paving the way with his track "New Horizons", was voted the theme song for the A State of Trance 650 tour of the same name.
Though Downey may have a niche following in this type of music, he's launched a new project on his label Global Code under the name R.I.C.O., taking on a more classically progressive approach to his music. His latest, "Domino", out this week, is a more chill, darker production with an almost cathartic melody that is most certainly deserving of that top billing spot on the Beatport trance landing page.
