Kwesi Kankam, a.k.a. Kwesi K, is an Alaskan by birth, but ended being raised in Toledo, Ohio. His musical side didn't blossom first; instead, his athletic abilities were the main focus. But as time went on, his artistic nature took a tight hold on his interests and his future.
Armed with an acoustic guitar, his style mixes a bountiful serving of soul and blues. Think of his style as somewhat comparable to that of Jack Johnson or Brett Dennen, except with a little more soulful feeling. I had a chance to briefly converse with Kwesi K, and his personality definitely reflects upon his songs.
The Ghanian descendent has graciously given EARMILK the chance to offer you the first listen of his newest material. Kwesi K comes to us with "Fold", an easy-listening and uplifting tune perfect for the crisp fall air. This time, he is joined by the voices of Brittany Ann and Birdie Busch to amplify the song's folksy vibe. "Fold" itself has a tropical feeling that will send you into a state of warmth or a pristine beach somewhere in the Bahamas. Either way, don't miss out: stream that sunshine below.
