As the summer months begin to retreat from the Northern Hemisphere, the temperatures steadily begin to rise in the southern half, clearing away the cold and allowing our party-all-the-time mentalities to continue. Perfect timing then for one of trance's most noted DJs to drop his influential 2-disc compilation, titled Buenos Aires '13. Falling in line with the two previous compositions (Prague '11 and Los Angeles '12) Markus Schulz commands attention with an impressive roster of artists from around the globe. Buenos Aires, however, was no random pick from a hat. This year the city captured Schulz' attention during a variety events, cementing the South American capital as one of the most loyal and trance-loving in his eyes. Whether it be his fans fighting through inclement weather during the city's UMF, or his selection to play during the bicentennial celebration, it's a place that holds a special space in Schulz' heart.

The compilation reflects the varied culture of the city, spanning originals and remixes by the man himself, as well as a cadre of other tracks by trance artists big and small. Tucandeo, an Irish duo comprised of Danny Cullen & Kevin Murphy, deliver "To An End", a dark and brooding dreamscape that reminds me a lot of the Armin's famed track, "Tuvan". Then there's Poland's Skytech, who enter on "The Other Side", their shimmering summer hit, which breaks into ethereal piano planes. Listen to some of our favorites below, as well as a special edition Schulz's Global DJ Broadcast dedicated to the release.
