It seems like this year's batch of Daft Punk remixes were solely focused on relative unknowns taking their shot at "Get Lucky", with interpretations including big-room three-chord progressive to minimal disco remixes to flat-out acoustic takes. Perhaps all the hype around Random Access Memories has shadowed some of the duo's previous work, including most of the originals not mashed up in the 2007 Alive album. While 2001's "Voyager" has to share space on a release with classics like "Aerodynamic" and "One More Time", it still carries the majestic French house vibes we'd expect from the group's earlier work.
Fellow Frenchman Sébastien Léger has now released a free rework that adds a funky disco punch to the original track. In this free download, bassline is everything, and only kicks out for brief moments of synth arpeggio brilliance. It's a refreshing remake from an artist who knows his way around a Daft Punk bootleg, and this one makes a nice mix for anyone looking to add to their arsenal of club-appropriate Daft classics.
