The NYC based duo, The Knocks have been getting their remix hands dirty these days, taking on everyone from Katy Perry to Britney Spears. Today they cover French house master Monsieur Adi’s disco tinged debut single “What’s Going On’. Flipping Adi’s orchestrated intro, the duo add a build up focused on the keys, while they lead us into a funky synth fueled melody accompanied by crisp drums and a deep bassline. A*M*E poignant vocals stay on display and collide effortlessly with the melody for a indisputably fresh and feel-good tune. The Knocks claim they are “taking a stand and reclaiming good music for all” and we don’t disagree. The remix is a part of a larger package for “What’s Going On” due out November 17th and will feature the likes of Belanger, Max Sanna & Steve Pitron, KRY$CHN, TKNIK, and ShockOne.
