Within the ever-evolving hip-hop soundscape, more and more rappers are collaborating with electronic music producers. In 2013 alone, British producer Hudson Mohawke has been credited with tracks on Kanye West's Yeezus, and more recently Drake's forthcoming Nothing Was The Same. Today, we were treated to another interesting collision of the hip-hop and electronic music worlds: James Blake and Chance The Rapper.
James Blake, one of the UK's finest exports of the past few years, brings his eerie style and sounds to the table, ready for one of the hottest rappers of the moment, Chance The Rapper, to drop some knowledge on us all. The instrumental has those distorted eerie synths that Blake has become synonymous with, over the top of a eclectic hip-hop beat with shuffling hi-hats and a kick that makes you bob your head.
The track was premiered by UK radio presenter Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 and has racked up a high amount of plays in the few hours since it dropped.
