Behind the mask SBTRKT's Aaron Jerome is as human as the rest of us, however when he's covered by the curtain he uses his beats to form his expressions, transcending conventional electronic music. In creating lush and vibrant soundscapes Jerome constantly meshes a wide rang of styles to convey his messages through music. One thing about Jerome is that he never looks back, in terms of both the progressive stance found in each of his songs and also the growth he showcases between each release.
Aside from his "Girls Love Beyonce" remix the SBRKT collective been fairly off the radar over the past year. Needless to say it was only a matter of time for the creative wheels to begin to churn leading us to "IMO"–a mellow and soothing ride through buoyant textures. With a follow-up to the self-titled debut in the works "IMO" was released early this morning. Accompanied by elaborate visuals, courtesy of a co-collaboration of Lorenzo Durantini and A Hidden Place, "IMO" is dedicated to the memory of Jerome's brother Daniel.
