Toronto native Tory Lanez has been sailing under the radar of most discussions about top Canadian hip-hop artists, but his progress and current position are definitely not to be over-looked. With a career birthed off of YouTube, his videos caught the attention of both Sean Kingston and fellow Canadian Justin Beiber. He has since inked a deal with Kingston's Time Is Money label and has built quite the fan base for himself throughout the United States, working with some of the industry's leading young talents.
His latest single, "Icey Dicey", is an ignorant "I got what you wish you had" -record, and this isn't a bad thing. Everyone has those times when all you want to listen to is some ignorant rap. Tory's next EP, Conflicts of My Soul, will be available online Thursday, August 8th. If this is your first time hearing about this young artist, catch up by checking his older work. Definitely one of Canada's most promising young artists.
