The Head and The Heart – "Shake"

In the middle of Sub Pop's long list of folk-inspired groups comes Seattle's The Head and The Heart, who emphasize both emotion and intellect in not only their name, but also their music. It has been an exiting journey for the group who, while not deviating stylistically from the path forged by many other Pacific Northwest folk-rock bands, have managed to turn a self-released album as an unsigned band into re-release on one of the more beloved indie labels on the market.

This inspiring story started three years ago, making The Head and The Heart's new song "Shake" the first glimpse of their sophomore release entitled Let's Be Still due out on October 15 via Sub Pop. From the opening thumping drum beat and subtle clapping it is obvious that the feel good vibes that made their debut such a success haven't gone anywhere. As the song pushes forward a wholesome bass melody and harmonized vocals give off a warm, almost personal feel.
