Every once in a while, it's nice to hear a song with no other purpose other than to get you moving. The latest success of Ninja Tune's notorious production line is Cell Broco's "Little Bit In Love With You". The man from Manchester (home to the infamous Warehouse Project) has been making waves in the northwest of England, but with tunes like this, it won't be long until he branches out. However, this producer has more than one level to his game, providing the soulful vocals in many of his productions (including this one).
The song itself is beautifully uncomplicated: a heavy b-line and looping glacial synths build up the tension before he brings in his vocals for a smooth chorus. The return to the basics of house has been on the rise, and this one definitely pays homage to the great Larry Heard. It has been played by a diverse range of DJs, with Breach, 2 Bears and Diplo all showing Cell Broco some love. Hopefully this love will be shown by the general public as well as the house lovers; this is what pop music is all about.
