As we find ourselves halfway through the summer festivities, this season's tunes have been nothing short of upbeat bangers suitable for any booze cruise or pool party. Everything from nu-disco to deep house, trap to indie rock have been filling our playlists and floating through the airwaves.
House music newcomer and French national, Kulkid, seems to have the sound all figured out. His sound rivals that of Eric Prydz and (dare I say) Avicii while staying true to the foundation of indie rock and nu disco. His most recent remix of American Authors' (pictured) "Believer" takes the tune to a whole new level, preparing it for the precariously raised cups of our nation's partying youth. You may notice a Caribbean/calypso vibe and that exotic thumbed piano sound; perfect combination. I sometimes fear for the vocal reworking of many remixed tunes, but this one holds true to the lyrics making it even more beach-worthy.
If you're looking for that perfect addition to your pool party playlist, look no further than Kulkid.
