The latest track from former Swedish House Mafia members Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso is quite a sign of the times, to say the least. "Roar" was debuted last week like many of dance music's best before it on Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 to an excited and receiving dance music community reaction. There's a catch, though, that some purists might really take offense to: the track is off of the forthcoming soundtrack for the latest Monsters, Inc. movie, Monsters University. While I personally am a fan of both franchises, it's interesting to try to feel the connection between the movie franchise and this house track beyond its name. "Roar" has got a serious funky, almost French house sounding groove that makes this a record strong on its own, Disney or not.
