Bronx upstart Doley Bernays brings us a pretty amazing visual for "Raise Your Weapon," the Deadmau5-sampled track off his upcoming EP. The video follows "Bad Guy," the rapper's last release, though this one definitely shows a more introspective side of Bernays. Shot by Matt Schaff for ReeLife, the video documents Doley explaining his life growing up in the Bronx, trying to balance street life with music. Just listening to the record, you can definitely feel the authenticity that makes Doley so relatable amongst his audience. According to Doley, the "weapon" he speaks of signifies his music as what keeps him alive, as opposed to the gun that many of his peers literally use in the streets. Bernays recruits fellow NYC rapper Denzil Porter, who compliments his flow. "Raise Your Weapon" was produced by MP Williams, who's also responsible for the dope creative direction of the visuals. Check out the video below, premiered over at MTV Hive.
