With a title of "Poison", one can't help but think of death, agony, and being harmful. Keeping said thoughts in mind, I was expecting an abrasive and dark sound to seep into my ears as I listened to UK artist BURNS' latest track. However, I was gently ushered in to a sultry tune accompanied by a bubbly undertone.
An unexpected surprise, but one that has you firmly entrenched in its grasp as the vocals of Dan Moss from Dems flow all around you. Ever captivating, BURNS alters the aural nature by throwing in a tempo upshift around the 2:30 mark that seems to be a final gasp of life before resigning itself to its end. Grab "Poison" on a special 12" double A-side vinyl, slated to be released for the UK's 6th annual Record Store Day on April 20. The accompanying single "No One Else" can be streamed below, as well.
