As of now, I hope all of you are aware of the standout DJ/producer from the Melt LA collective, Djemba Djemba. He has been on a massive rise in the past year, with releases from his own Rabbit Records, forthcoming Team Supreme label, and most notably Diplo's Mad Decent label. Djemba Djemba has collaborated with some of today's biggest hip-hop and trap stars, receiving much praise on his recent release with M|O|D standout Arnold on their track "Lurk", a collaboration with trap maskdermind UZ.
Today, Djemba Djemba drops a new remix of singer BANKS, a lovely vocalist with a plethora of quality remixes already, a personal favorite being SOHN's remix of "Before I Met You". Djemba's take on "Fall Over" takes BANKS's atmospheric and airy vocals and creates a bass-heavy electronic hip-hop track that hurls you into an 808 coma, in a way that only Djemba Djemba can. It has become a staple sound of his to include what I can only relate as being pitched breathing samples, turning what is a simple and basic sound into a clever uniquely visible rhythm. Enjoy, this is a fun one!
