Santa Barbara’s electronic dream team Candyland consisting of Josie Martin and Ethan Davis, refuse to disappoint fans and continually surprise critics. Their secret seems to be a constantly evolving sound that taps into a myriad of genres, from glitch to disco and back again. It comes as no surprise then that their Miami EP showcases a trap, a dubstep, and my favorite, a break-neck electro house track. However, to say this song, a festival remix of “Timeflies” by Nothing At All, is purely electro house would do it discredit. Instead, it is a whirling melody of piano interwoven with dubby breaks and sped along by an up-tempo, four-on-the-floor bassline. Download the tracks on Soundcloud and buy tickets below to see these two at some huge Miami parties next week, alongside names like Tommy Trash, Knife Party, and Congorock.
