Misun – "Harlot"

As if the genre indie pop had not been stretched far enough in recent times you are presented with Misun, a Washington D.C. based funk, soul, dance,  and rock band that have me nodding my head to the beat in response to their new single “Harlot”. Instead of going in the direction of over layering tracks for effect the song’s simplicity is part of what makes it so innocent and enjoyable to listen to. The band is named after their singer Misun Wojcik whose ability of stretch her voice to fit into multiple genres is worth noting. While “Harlot” may seem to be a brainchild of the 60’s, Misun’s previous single “Met You” sounds to be straight out of the 80’s, including a rad sax solo by Sammy Bananas. Take a listen, or download either track produced by keyboardest Nacey below and you can hear for yourself.
