After teasing new material for months, Born Ruffians have returned with a right stomper of a single. "With Her Shadow" floats in unnoticed on an aqueous guitar line before mounting to a yelpy, snare-slapping finish. It's got all the melodic nooks and crannies of Ruffians' former work, but shines a little brighter, perhaps, around the edges–like a few shards of sun on a winter afternoon.
"With Her Shadow" emerges as the first new tune from the Canadian foursome's upcoming third LP, due out sometime this year from Paper Bag. While no release date has yet been announced, the band finished recording in October and will likely reveal further details before long.
