Danish DJ and producer Mike Hawkins returns to our pages for an exclusive premiere of his newest track, “Trigger Warning.” Having already garnered support from the likes of electro house idols, Bingo Players, the song continues recent successes heard in productions from Hawkin’s and Pablo Oliveros’ label, Megaton Records.
I’d have to say “Trigger Warning” proves the aspiring artist hasn’t stopped honing his skills since “This Is How We Roll” with Oliveros. Though still carrying glitchy elements and syncopated beats, the overall sound remains supremely rounded with a great sense of balance. It’s this quality, and small touches, like the electric guitar in the break, which make every part of the track enjoyable and mixable.
Recently signing with the big names EMI/Virgin hints that this guy’s career has only just begun, and he has the tracks to back it up. I'm eagerly awaiting his upcoming single with said label early in the spring of 2013.
