Released from the Major Lazer camp a few days ago the, Start a Fyah mixtape is a smooth mix featuring Chronixx, the son of Jamaican singer Chronicle, along with young DJ Walshy Fire. Clocking in at just over an hour of rootsy flowing music and the strong backing of Major Lazer, the tape is a perfect platform to introduce Chronixx and Walshy Fire to a much broader audience.

Set to drop February 19 of next year, Major Lazer's forthcoming album, Major Lazer Frees The Universe will be one of the 2013's first big reggae releases and Chronixx and Walshy Fire's Major Lazer sponsored tape will tide listeners over until the pending release of Major Lazer's highly anticipated sophomore release.

Let's hope the Mayan's were wrong and we're still around to give it a listen.
