While his version of “Sunrise” (a collaboration with The Aston Shuffle) still sitting at number one on the overall Beatport top 100 tracks, Tommy Trash releases another song, “Truffle Pig,” to his fan’s delight. Having just seen him close Knife Party’s Haunted House Tour, I can tell you the artist truly lives up to his name. His set caught the house on fire, unleashing an onslaught of favorites in the last few minutes, like “Ladi Dadi” and the aforementioned “Sunrise.” Today’s release may not be in the rager category, but nonetheless displays Tommy’s skill and ability to produce a variety of quality tracks. Syncopation gives “Truffle Pig” surprise and funk, while select vocals lend it a soulful touch; it’s the perfect song to knead a crowd into the climax of the set. Still no word on when his collaboration with A-Trak, “Tuna Melt,” will be officially released.
