Talk about taking me back in the day. Fresh off touring with XXYYXX in Europe, San Francisco producer Giraffage's remix of The Dream's "Shawty is Da Shit" (or "Shawty is a 10" for you censored folk) is a great tune to take me back to 2007 and get my morning started. The intro starts off similar to how you feel in the morning, kind of groggy with your senses slowly tuning themselves to full function. The altered and deeper vocals employed in this remix were a great touch that flowed into the slightly faster-paced section starting at 0:27. With rhythmic drums punctuated by some quick-hitting snare sections, Giraffage delivers an exceptional song that is near perfect to help get your day started. Heck, I'm sure your "shawty" would enjoy waking up to this new rendition of The Dream's track as well.
