German duo Spencer & Hill’s “Surrender” has been circulating for months now, but today we get to enjoy the official remix release featuring the talents of Quintino and Bassjackers. As you would expect given the preferences of the remixers, the two tracks stand as definitively different makeovers: one much more progressive and the other solidly electro house. Quintino, most notable for his collaboration on “Epic,” delivers the progressive edition. Massive climbs break into bright melodies, which feel much more buoyant and joyful than the Bassjackers’ downright dirty remix. Their track (my personal favorite of the two) really brings the heat, focusing its attention on the drop and resulting stomp-filled bassline. Both tracks do share one feature: a heavy reliance on Ari’s vocals that will melt any house fan’s heart.
