Using only the following devices; vintage Casio Sk-10 toy keyboard, thrifted Yamaha PortaSound PSS-130, ukulele, old iPhone, Campbell’s soup can, broken Danelectro guitar and a program called AudioPaint, Todd Webb was able to create Baldessari. Todd Webb is the mastermind of Seamonster and Baldessari is the name of his upcoming LP. The delicately crafted album includes eleven precious originals and five remixes from Monster Rally, Yalls, DJP &MrT, Eric Stueer and Roman Ruins . Baldessari is a collection of swooning bedroom folk stories as each vibrant melody retrieves a favorite childhood memory.
Gold Robot Records will be releasing Baldessari on September 11th but today, we are premiering a little sample of the two features on the album. Below is a stream of track number six titled "Adeline" and a remix of "Abstraction" from west coast pop escapist, Yalls. You can hear Webb's play with words in "Abstraction" , where he rhymes abstraction with interaction, attraction, subtraction and fraction beneath Casey's funky experimentation. Then in "Adeline" (my personal favorite track), Webb's music is reflecting hypnotic tones embodying the right amount of comfort and warmth. Why not give Seamonster a try to brighten your midweek?
