TNGHT Uncensored BBC Mix

With hip hop and electronic eclipsing one another quite often these days, it's no wonder Hudson Mohawke and Lunice's newest pet project, TNGHT, has attracted so much attention. Like a true eclipse, it's a rarity because it's rarely done this well. But herein is a perfect example of what it sounds like when an accomplished beatmaker is able to profoundly marry evocative, futuristic beats with just the right amount of hip hop. A rarity though it may be, TNGHT is a wake up call to those of us who may have been too quick to lump recent hip hop-electronic works under the burgeoning trap music genre.

Prior to dropping TNGHT, Mohawke and Lunice let loose an atrociously fresh 28-track mix while on Diplo's BBC Radio show, calling it their "mission statement" of sorts. It involves mixings of 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka, Bun B, Big KRIT, Zebra Katz and is absolutely worth listening to if you enjoyed any aspect of TNGHT.

For more on TNGHT the EP, I give a heavy nod to Rob's in-depth look at the rather hype-worthy album. Below, find the TNGHT BBC Mix in its entirety, uncensored to boot.
