Who the hell is Captain Murphy? At this point your guess is probably as good as mine. After making his (assuming that the enigmatic figure is a he) formal introduction to the greater listening masses with his appearance on Flying Lotus's single "Between's Friends" alongside Earl Sweathshirt, Captain Murphy has subsequently unveiled two solo records the interestingly titled 'Mighty Morphin Foreskin" and "The Ritual", the latter of which Murphy recently release an animated video for.
Rhyming over a borrowed instrumental cut of Jay Electronica's Just Blaze produced "Dear Moleskine", Murphy proves he's no slouch on the mic. Rumored by many to be the rapping alias of Flying Lotus (or a FlyLo x Earl Sweatshirt collaborative moniker), the rumors and speculations regarding the true identity of the mysterious character known as Captain Murphy continue to swirl.
At this point I'd really rather not know the identity of Captain Murphy. The music by itself is enjoyable. I'm a firm believe that somethings are better left unknown. Who's to say Murphy's identity is not on that list?
