Though 2012 is only half over, it’s already been a smashing year for DSCO (aka Ruben Smulovitz), half of the *former* Los Angeles DJ & production duo No Body. Earlier in the summer they won EDMBiz and Insomniac’s Discovery Project to play at EDC, and their tracks have received support from some of the biggest DJs in the world such as Tiesto & Hardwell. Before we get down to the music though, there's some news that actually saddens me to have to inform you of: Ruben & Kevin of No Body will be going there separate ways and pursuing their own musical direction. They will be playing two shows in San Diego to commemorate the occasion, the first one being on July 26th at Voyeur, opening for Dirtyphonics and the other will be on July 29th at Wavehouse, opening for Wolfgang Gartner. I'm pretty rattled that I never got to see these guys live, and if you can, I highly suggest checking them out before its too late.
Today Earmilk will be premiering DSCO’s new bootleg remix of W&W & Jochen Miller’s track, “Summer.” From the start, the song gets your blood pumping with a whopping 138 BPM and a catchy melody that alternates between an electro piano and raging synth line (subtly reminiscent of Tommy Trash’s “Ladi Dadi” remix). Pulling elements from across the electronic spectrum really gives the track some depth, so big ups to DSCO on this hard-hitting remix.
