Chicago-based indie rock/jazz (a little bit of everything else in between) band Kids These Daysrecent late night appearance on Conan helped solidify their place on a lot of people's radar. Last week the band released their revamped rendition of fellow Chi-City native Kanye West's "Flashing Lights" which includes original lyrics from the band's emcee Vic Mensa and KTD's signature live instrumentation. The young band's re-imagining of the popular single now has a colorful visual for their darker more introspective and thought-provoking take on one of the standout tracks from Kanye's Graduation album.
With their debut album, Traphouse Rock due out September, KTD have been on the road touring in earnest and are slated to perform at several events next month including, the High Sierra Music Festivalin Quincy, California July 7, The Taste of Chicago July 12, the inaugural Bunbury Music Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio July 13 and at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware July 20.
