The rugged Freddie Gibbs & production oddball Madlib team up once again to release their second EP, Shame, via Stones Throw Records, which is to be followed up by a joint LP expected to drop this fall. Although a 180° turn from the feel and vibe of Thuggin', Gibbs & Madlib still do what they do with the titular single "Shame", a softer, soulful contrast to their respective vast bodies of work. For good measure they brought BJ The Chicago Kid on to lay down the hook.
Essentially Shame is a single, it features eight tracks, however only two tracks are "complete" (using that term loosely) songs,"Shame" and "Terrorists". The rest of the EP includes instrumentals, a cappellas, and a couple of bonus beats to which I have to praise whoever's decision it was to allow this. All you rappers and producers can jump these and try to make them your own.
