In honor of Throwback Thursday, for her latest creation LA beatmaker and Brainfeeder artist TOKiMONSTA set her sights on reworking Jodeci's 90s baby-making classic "Freek N' You." Apart from injecting the 1995 slow jam with a dose of modernity, TOKiMONSTA has a field day vamping up the track with a surplus of energy, synths and lively percussion.
I love remixes like this simply because they provide me the perfect opportunity to put some of my narrow-minded mainstream R&B loving friends on to non-R&B acts like TOKiMONSTA. I wouldn't be surprised if this serves as a fruitful introduction to Jodeci for many fans of TOKiMONSTA.
