After dropping off a sampler of their debut album in the fall, Portland duo Shadows On Stars finally released their self-titled debut album. The sound of the self-described indie pop duo's album is hard to pinpoint, incorporating elements from several genres such as new wave, electronic and punk. Shadows On Stars' artistic range is on full display on their well-crafted debut. The album is an easy listen and consistent from start to finish. What's even more impressive than the album is that it is available for free. I suppose some credence can be found in the American proverb the "best things in life are free."
