They say that all good things in life are meant to be shared. So, despite having already posted about Niia this week, we’re not going to be greedy and sit on this track, but instead deliver a double dose of downloads from the New York based singer-songwriter.
Jai Paul’s 2011 smash "BTSTU" has been sampled, chopped, edited and reconstructed by artists as diverse as Beyoncé, Drake and Boy Mandeville, but Niia’s minimal rendition is the one that’s taken my breath away. Replacing the aggressive synth wobbles of Jai Paul’s original with layers of delicate backing-vocals wrapped around a sparse beat, Niia’s dreamy arrangement leaves plenty of space to highlight the tender beauty of her voice, which grabs you on first listen and just doesn’t let go.
