French electro house artist Kavinsky (also known as Vincent Belorgey) has released his track "Roadgame" from the Drive soundtrack. The track is only available on the DVD/Blueray French edition, but we are lucky enough to have it in our hands now. The track is stellar mix of string instruments and electronic undertones. It has a very 80s movie soundtrack feel alongside a vibe similar to one heard in Daft Punk's music. Sidenote: Kavinsky has toured alongside Daft Punk, The Rapture, Justice, and SebastiAn.
The label working with Kavinsky is Record Makers, founded in 2000, who describe Kavinsky's style as dark brooding electro. "Roadgame" is just that. The track builds from the moment it begins all the way to the end. The dance between instruments and bass provides the listener with an adventure within their own mind. The track is reminiscent of action film soundtracks in the 80s, but still manages to modernize itself. It will be featured on Kavinsky's forthcoming album. No word as of yet as far as a release date goes, but we'll keep our ears open and be sure to update you when we hear.
