Today's delivery is brought to you by ATB. It's surprising that, so far, we haven't featured this German-born pioneer of electronic music on our Daily 2% feature. He can easily be mentioned as one of the first major electronica artists that a lot of us listened to when we started listening to the genre. His arrangement of Trance music is almost always something that you have to listen to and can be somewhat hard to describe just because of all the emotions involved. Most of his tracks contain just the right amount of buildup followed with perfect timing for the "payoff" and the formula may seem simplistic but his sound isn't easily reproduced. You can usually tell when you are listening to an ATB track even if you hadn't heard it before. The track I'm bringing to you today is called "Listen to Me" which came out on his 2009 double album entitled Future Memories. This pick has a soft trance sound all bundled up in an ambient package which, overall, contains the right mixture of ethereal background noise and faster paced foreground drum patterns to keep things interesting. It almost sounds like the audible equivalent of a prolonged postponement of an orgasm, for the ultimate payoff , that never really comes yet the experience was it's own payoff. Check out the track and chill….
