Every now and then I like to dig into the library and pull out some reggae essentials. Today's unforgettable track dates back to 1998 when Rancid punkers Tim Armstrong and Lars Frederiksen enlisted some reggae special forces to join them on a new album to be recorded in Jamaica. The album Life Won't Wait crossed some serious punk boundaries, adopting new sounds from reggae, dub, and funk. The track I'm bringing you today is the title track Life Won't Wait and it features reggae superstar Buju Banton and many other Jamaican instrumental contributers. It's a spacey, funk, ska melange led by the raspy vocals of Banton, Armstrong and Frederiksen – pure genius in my opinion. This Earmilk may have been delivered long ago, but don't worry, it will never expire.
Buju Banton and Rancid collaborated again in 2000 recording "No More Misty Days" for Buju's album Unchained Spirit
