There are thousands of popular artists out there today making new singles all the time. With the increase of bedroom producers, though, the ability to simply download a whole studio that you can use right on your lap has made original songs more scarce. Now it seems that you're finding tens of thousands of remixes by artists with more and more ludicrous names, leaving you wondering, "Transexual Viking Sword Bro- what???" This weekly segment will bring you the popular remixes and the never heard of "Transexual Viking Sword Brothers" remixes of a (common) artist's singles. From all these bedroom producers we are seeing one thing, and that is absolutely fantastic, manipulated, warped remixes.
This week's Artist Remixed is taking a step back, this is not your usual Artist Remixed featuring a popular artist. Instead I'm trying something different with this feature, taking it in a new direction for the next couple of weeks. If this new direction works out then hey, we're flying high, if, on the other hand, there's not a lot of positive response from this new direction, I'll abandon ship early. To start off the new direction I've found remixes of old school songs. I'm talking about Frank Sinatra, Supremes, Diana, Temptations, if it sounded like it was from the 50's, I've got it to share with you. I didn't find a ridiculous amount so if you know any more remixes share them below in the comments!
Top 5 Favourite Remixes
This week I've again decided to make it my top 5 favourite remixes since I didn't find too many remixes in total that stretched over different genres.
5. Downlow'd and MAD-SIN Bootleg
Coming in at number 5, Downlow'd and MAD-SIN's bootleg of "Tell it to my Heart" takes the position, the high energy and speed vocals warp the original track by Taylor Dayne into a high pace, drumstep remix. Enjoy.
4. Gooffee's Remix
So I think I make a note in almost every major "Artist Remixed" that I'm not a huge fan of moombah, infact when it comes to moombah I'd usually rather stick toothpicks into the skin between my fingernail and finger. Too much? Probably, regardless this moombah track must have hit just the spot with me since I've given it the number 4 spot. The moombahstep breakdown, which uses Stevie Wonder's vocals for added effect, makes it an amazing remix.
3. DJ Kue's Remix
DJ Kue takes Hall and Oates' original and turns it into a electro 'dance floor phenomenon.' DJ Kue often produces dance floor remixes that should be put on any party playlist. The high energy synths work so well with the classic vocals making this amazing remix number 3.
2. Zeds Dead Original
Zeds Dead's song "Journey of a Lifetime" features a slow beginning which quickly turns into Zeds Dead's usual heavy bass with an added wobble and rap on top to match. Zeds Dead often makes songs that feature old school sounds which is part of the reason why I love them so much. For instance, the song "Coffee Break", which you can find later in this article.
1. Adas Remix
So your probably thinking, "Who the fuck is Adas and how did he beat Zeds Dead?" Well, it's simple really, Adas's remix is one of the most relaxed yet jamming remixes I've ever heard. With just 9 followers on Soundcloud, Adas isn't getting the recognition he deserves for his talent. The remix is something so simple yet so moving, the initial beat dropping on the words "Stop!" always get me moving.

Other Remixes Worth Checking Out
The rest of these remixes are absolutely amazing and worth giving a listen. I feel that, too often, my readers simply download the top 5 remixes and leave the rest at the bottom. Simply because they didn't make it into my top 5 favourite remixes doesn't mean they won't be yours, for instance there's a Justice remix below that I'm sure some of you would love. Everyone's taste in music is different so take the time to hear other people's work. Enjoy, highlights on The Treatment, Cragga, The Dirty Tees and both of TEAM BANZAI's remixes.
