Freddie Gibbs has been making huge waves in the last year or so and everything he touches is raw and pure. His flow is straight raw and he seems to bring a unique perspective of a "thug" in 2011. Now, he made even bigger waves when it was announced the he, Chip Tha Ripper, & The Cool Kids were making the super group Pulled Over the Cops but haven't heard any new news on that project. Hopefully this supergroup releases some new material.
Anyway, back to the matter at hand; Freddie Gibbs has teamed up with Madlib to release a new 6 track EP entitled Thuggin'. And now, they've released the titular track, to the masses, just to get our appetites a little wet. Madlib is definitely not new to collaborations and we are all aware that everything he touches is pure gold. I would say, after J Dilla, Madlib is definitely the next hip-hop producer, in line, with the midas touch. Check out the track and pick up the EP.
