Released back in 2007 under the moniker of Somfay*, Canadian producer Jesse Somfay (more commonly known under his full name, or more recently as Flourish) holds yet another gem in his ever-growing catalog. Serendip, which was released on Montreal-based Archipel recordings–one of the most progressive Canadian electronic record labels owned and operated by Jean-Patrice Rémillard, a.k.a. Pheek—was released digitally and only contains one track, entitled "Fricative White (From A Whisper to a Scream)."

"Fricative White (From a Whisper to a Scream)" is a 27-minute epoch that sends the listener far beyond aesthetics of space attainable in any physical form. Evolving from the fat square-wave arpeggio heard early in the track to shoegazing drones of fractal, parallel echoes that filter their way in and out of consciousness, the track creates a highly entrancing effect. Materialists beware, Somfay provokes the upheaval of nihilistic and optimistic atheist roots with Serendip–prepare to be awoken.
