Kiernan Hebden (aka Four Tet) unleashed his mix for Fabric's live series just a few days ago. The talented producer honed his skills in the legendary venue that is Fabric while prepping tracks for There is Love in You–and has taken the opportunity to give back to the inspiring London club.
In addition to the insane album artwork, Four Tet's mix boasts subtle grooves and glassy tones that have come to characterize Hebden's style. The twenty-seven track mix is a great glimpse into the talents involved in Four Tet's live show for those who have not yet been fortunate to experience one in person. The first standout track in the mix is Four Tet's remix of "First Born" by Crazy Bald Heads. The quick-decay style of Four Tet's melodic and percussive favouring is as audible as ever here, creating minimal grooves complemented by the female vocal snippets similar to those that appear throughout There is Love in You.
Some tracks later in the mix Burial's "Street Halo" captures the attention of the listener–Burial's style is very well suited to the batch of tracks Four Tet has chosen to include in the mix but still manages to stand out like the remix mentioned above.
The seamless mix is a great addition to any music collection, relying on nothing buy well-crafted rhythms and the tasteful soul that is Hebden's drive. Four Tet has been busy conquering the club and it shows on FabricLive.59. Included below are the first tracks from the mix, pick up a copy for yourself to enjoy it in its entirety.
