This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…
Today's delivery is brought to you by Nickodemus and featuring Carole C (neither artist pictured). Nickodemus, born Nick DeSimone, is a NY DJ who is of Silician heritage. I mention his heritage only because, as of late, I've tried to become more "wordly" in my musical tastes. Now, I've gotten samples of world music just by listening to Thievery Coporation and the like but recently I tried to delve directly into Arab/Middle Eastern music just to see what its like. Oddly enough I ended up back in America with Nickodemus who just so happens to mix in massive amounts of Middle Eastern as well as Latin music. Close enough. The track I'm bringing to you today is called "Cleopatra in New York" which is the Zim Zam mix. You'll probably be instantly remind of Theivery and its no wonder that Nickodemus is signed to the label they started, ESL. They have similar tastes and styles. Carole C just might put you in a trance with her melodic chant. Check out the track and chill….
