Hunx and His Punx. They are, to say the least, a bit odd. But that's not a bad thing. Their track "Lovers Lane" is like a blast from the past. The way past. As in the 50's or 60's. I heard it first early this year and for some reason, never brought it to you guys. Here's a description via MTVhive.com:
Seth Bogart (a.k.a. Hunx) and his backing band of Punx have another expression of multivalent love in the group's latest video for "Lovers Lane." In this clip we see five sweet troublemakers — Hunx, Shannon Shaw (bass, and whose vocals on "Lovers Lane" is a dead ringer for the similarly backwards-looking Detroit Cobras' Rachel Nagy's signature smoke and crackle), Michelle Santamaria (guitar), Erin Emslie (drums), and Amy Blaumstein (guitar and organ) — on their way to a lovely (if sparsely attended) dance where they are holding court. The video was directed by Hannah Lew and shot by Renny McCauley in what looks to be the grit-glow of Super 8. The cheeky throwbacks don't end with the film stock: the video's best shot shows Hunx standing and sashaying in an old convertible while a mustachioed Shaw douses her head in Aqua Net.
