There's no exact way of knowing how many songs are released in a day. Whether it be an eighteen second kazoo ditty on Soundcloud, or a Hypem track with 4 hearts, all music deserves a shot. Even on an independent blog like Earmilk, it's impossible to cover every band/song/remix worth listening too. That's why Straight From the Teet is back, and this time…IT'S DAILY! My name is Logan (aka Running) and I will be curating Earmilk's newest old feature, highlighting two up-and-coming artists from two different genres, so sit back and enjoy some good-old-fashioned, non-pasteurized, Earmilk. Drink it fast though, because I'll be coming back tomorrow with more…
Ambient
I really don't think I could've been born at a more opportune time, because the deluge of ambient, chillout, chillwave, and lo-fi music is literally never ending. Sure that means sifting through a lot of shit, but it's all good an worth it when you find a band like Grandpa Was A Lion. Their latest EP Archaic is the perfect soundtrack for your morning routine, especially if it involves drawn out longboard rides to wherever you work. Pick up your copy today via Bandcamp, or just hit up SFTT for the highlights.
Hip-Hop
Ok, so Grieves & Budo aren't really "up-and-coming" but I really wanted to feature their music video for the Together/Apart album closer "Against The Bottom". It features three things 1) A laid-back house party 2) people having fun on a grassy knoll, and 3) lots of attractive women. When you pair that with the washed out cinematography, toy piano sounds, and Atmosphere-esque guitar riff, you get the perfect summertime jam/visuals.
(P.S. Download Grieves & Budo's latest record Together/Apart via Fifth Element NOW!)
