Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve [Josh Martinez]

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…

Today's delivery is brought to you by Josh Martinez. Now, first off, I must give a shout out to Taylor(one of our readers) for turning me on to Josh Martinez. I had heard his music before but never really gave his albums a complete listen. Of course I'm kicking myself for not listening to his stuff more heavily before now. Josh Martinez is a producer/rapper from Canada and he's even started his own label. So he definitely has his hands in all things music and in every type of artistic direction. He burst onto the scene in the lat 90's but the today's track is from his Midriff Music album that dropped in 2004. The track I'm bringing to you today is called "Time Alone" which is an instrumental hip-hop track with some smooth piano accompaniment. It even sounds like it has a small bit of country guitar thrown in just to show well Josh can mix. Check out the track and chill…..

  • Dude has talent. I can imagine someone with a real mellow tone and a tight flow just rapping on this. Someone smooth like Nas maybe.

  • You guys should do a Frank Ocean record from OFWGKTA sometime for Daily 2%, that guy is the definition of chill.

  • This is fantastic. The incorporation of solid back beats and paino really make for fantastic duo. Then the guitar hits. Basically the song is gripping in the way that it never ceases to surprise you, he just keeps building the feeling. I've found a new favorite song, thank you
