Chris Lake’s Rising Music imprint may have just wrapped up a jam-packed September tour, but the crew isn’t slowing down when it comes to new releases. This week sees Toronto-based Hatiras team up with Chicago’s DJ Bam Bam for the original “Thrill Her” – but don’t expect any Michael Jackson-style Halloween elements in this one. While it’s Bam Bam’s first release on the label, Hatiras is far from a newcomer to the Rising family, with a Nom De Strip collaboration out earlier this Spring. The track has seen notable support from fellow Canadian Deadmau5, appearing as a mysterious ID in both of his two major festival sets this summer at Veld Music Festival and Made In America.
And it’s no surprise as to why upon first listen. The blend of airy synths and reverbed vocal chops provides for a tech-meets-progressive feel, while a flurry of percussion elements boom in after a cliffhanger drop. It's a track that can match up with the big-room minimal trends of the main stage, but still boasts much more rhythm and creativity than many of today's one-note offerings.
