The Swedish production duo Staygold have teamed up with fellow Swede Style Of Eye and Zimbabwean singer Pauline Kamusewu, aka Pow, for their single “Wallpaper.” The track is the first single to be taken from the duo’s debut album Rain On Our Parade, set for release July 22nd on Virgin EMI. Carli Löf and Måns Glaeser came together a decade ago when they emerged as one of the most singular talents of the rock & roll era, adept in flawlessly tying together pop, funk, disco and hip-hop. Since then have shown remarkable stylistic integrity and musical diversity, constantly experimenting with different sounds, textures, and genres while always constructing a cohesive whole.
Pulling from pop, electro and disco influences, “Wallflower’s” danceable beat floats along on a smooth current complemented by Pow’s timeless and naturally soulful vocals. The duo ignites the track’s dance floor possibilities with the perfect accompanying vintage video. Shot in black and white, we are transported to the underground workings of an old school club. While Pow commands the stage, a couple comes alive through the music. Check out the video below and be transported through space and time.
