There are thousands of popular artists out there today making new singles all the time. With the increase of bedroom producers though, the ability to simply download a whole studio that you can use right on your lap has made original songs more scarce. Now it seems that you're finding tens of thousands of remixes by artists with more and more ludicrous names, leaving you wondering, "Transexual Viking Sword Bro- what???" This weekly segment will bring you the popular remixes and the never heard of "Transexual Viking Sword Brothers" remixes of a (common) artist's singles. From all these bedroom producers we are seeing one thing, and that is absolutely fantastic, manipulated, warped remixes.
Welcome readers to the second week of your "Artist Remixed – Kanye West" Experince, let's hope you got your full in the first week because the second week brings some real bangers. This week features his more popular albums which include Graduation and 808 Heartbreak. Get excited for our last week and sink your teeth on these juicy remixes.
Kanye West is a famou– "Yo Dranoel, I'm really happy for you, and I'm let you finish. But Suicide Sundaes is one of the best weekly segments of all time. Of All Time!" –ElectBlake
POPULAR REMIXES
There was just two remixes that really stuck out to me as popular remixes. Nothing to major on the scene except for maybe the A-Trak remix which I would think you've all heard before. Not a huge fan of the remix even though it has gotten a fair amount of hype. In which case highlights on Mysto and Pizzi Electro remix.
ELECTRO REMIXES
Huge list of banger electro remixes for you this week. All really good, keeping the high energy, synth scratching beats alive. Top notch smoother electro (just not thrash, still electro) to feed you until next week. Highlights on MOTOR's remix.
DISCO REMIXES
The disco remixes here are few but extremely good. Probably two of my close favourite remixes in this whole post. The nu-disco, high energy synths work really well with Kanye vocals. Highlights on DiscoTech's remix.
DUBSTEP REMIXES
Oh Dubstep remix section, how we've had our ups and downs. This section is fairly good, there are defiantly some highlights in this section, but it all really depends on what type of dubstep you enjoy. If your into the less hectic dubstep, more relaxed dubstep then I would check out the Bohemian Kid, Nickolas Poce and Hatrias remixes. If your into the hectic, crazy dubstep then the rest are for you. Highlights on The Architekt remix stole the show by a long shot though. Insane remix, tied for overall remix so kudos Architekt, I think I might just have to give a link to your soundcloud in the bottom…
DRUM AND BASS REMIXES
These couple of Drum and Bass remixes are pretty nice, the Kastle remix is questionable while the High Contrast remix is a nice fast pace remix. So simply put, highlights on High Contrast remix.
CHILL OUT REMIXES
This weeks Chill out Remixes are not your usual Chill out remixes. The usual calming remixes those of you come for to get away from the heavy bass and electro thrash will not find them here this week. Most of these remixes still have some fight in them and are not your usual chill… Highlights on Kevin in Colour Remix.
MASHUPS
The mashups here are really nice. I'm going to have to say though that I think I was more a fan of last weeks mashups. I don't think I looked to the best of my ability either to be brutally honest. So enjoy the few you have and hopefully you enjoy. Highlights on OMGosh's mashup.
RAP REMIXES
I've tried this segment before and thought I would try it again, I know there is probably more of these remixes but theses are simply the few I found and liked while searching for remixes. So if your going to comment that I'm missing a huge remix with Young Jezzy, Lil Wayne and a whole slur of other rappers it's okay. It's all okay. Highlights on Dee Lirious's Remix.
WEIRD REMIXES
If you've been following my posts as a writer on earmilk for some time your probably aware that I'm a fan of dubstep, electro, and remixes. (Who isn't really?) My embarrising secret for music tastes though is that I like (besides Ke$ha) weird music. I think it has something to do with me liking Mr. Oizo when I was young. Anyways these remixes are, well Weird. Not your usual remixes. Pretty explanatory in the Flying Lotus remix, you all should have seen that coming. While the Heavy Feet remix reminds me of Mr. Oizos remix of Civilization. Enjoy, highlights on Heavy Feets remix.
OVERALL FAVOURITE REMIX
My overall favourite remix is a rap remix by Kickdrums that has such a smooth feel over the track. Now usually when you find remixes like these they keep the vocals and throw on another beat. At first listening to this I would assume that's pretty much what's been done. But this remix is so much more than that. It takes the original and brings it down on such a whole new level with a amazing feel. The Guitar rips and smooth drum beats keep it on a rap/chill out remix. I almost get the sense that you were listening to "Erase Me" by Kid Cudi, it's that relaxed.
