Alina Baraz makes an "Electric" reappearance + 2017 tour dates

Alina Baraz released Urban Flora, her first full-length project, as a collaborative LP with Danish producer Galimatias in 2015. The 23-year-old singer made some serious waves with the 8-track LP— hailing from Ohio, she's gone national with her Let's Get Lost tour planned for this spring. The Urban Flora Remix LP was released shortly after, which featured a breadth of different artists like GEOTHEORY, Hotel Garuda, and Le Youth,  giving it an impressive range of sounds that switched up the sultry and soft themes of the original LP.

Flash forward two years to now and we can see Baraz has clearly been busy working on a refreshed sound that can be heard in her newest single, "Electric" featuring Khalid. The single has noticeably more analog instrumentation, with simple production that features soft guitar and really allows Baraz's vocals to glow as the backbone of the track. Just as fresh as the change in sound was the decision to feature Khalid, who himself is only 17 but has over 10 million listens on his track "Location." This is deservedly so— the track reveals a side of R&B that wasn't so explored at it's time of release, and the young singers voice is complementary to Baraz's but doesn't overpower it. "Electric" is the song to listen to this Winter when you need to feel a little warmth: see Let's Get Lost tour dates below.
