Nightclub franchise Sankeys announced last month it would be closing its original club in Manchester which opened over two decades ago. Sankeys will instead attract clubbers to their new London venue Sankeys East, while feeding the clubbing hungry overseas in Ibiza for the seventh summer this year. Sankeys East has set up home in Romford "where Essex meets London" and already ushered in UK selectors to christen the venue.
This Saturday, legendary DJs Josh Wink and Terry Francis will step up, while Sankey's acid house party Dance 88/89 takes centre stage the following week. Sankeys East will then look to the future on March 18th and install fresh talent Max Chapman to play the first marathon set inside its doors.
Starting as the doors open at 9pm, playing all night long until closing time at 4am. If his latest release on Toolroom "Zulu" is anything to go by, this will be a lively night for all those proper house heads. Max will be joined by some fellow DJ pals to jump on the decks with him for some surprise B2B segments.
As one door closes for the brand, multiple open. Sankeys promises to open new clubs in the areas that get enough interest in their campaign Do you wanna Sankeys? So far Stoke and Newcastle will get a Sankeys venue in the new future.
